Cheese Please

We've been working on meal-time manners lately.  Tay calls dinner "polite dinner."  It's been necessary for our family since Mom or Dad in the kitchen immediately translates to a kid that it must be time to fill the ravaging void which has suddenly appeared in their abdominal region.  Patience my children.  Food will come.  Soon.  Even sooner if you go play and let me finish.

Tonight, Tay was working on dinner prep (bless this man!) when CJ rudely and loudly demanded, "cheese, please."  Nice that she said please.  But still not acceptable for polite dinner.  The child is learning, though.  She immediately realized her mistake at the very same instant that Tay gave her the look.

CJ:  "What?  I was just seeing if it rhymes still.  Cheese.  Please.
(pause).....So, may I please have some cheese?"
